What store, parking lot and dashcam footage can show, and what it cannot

When a lot is lit by a single pole lamp, night footage is mostly shadow. Exposure and contrast can be raised within what the sensor recorded. A vehicle's outline may then separate from the asphalt.

A dashcam clip that jolts over a pothole can be steadied. A car may be in view for only a few frames. Our team picks the clearest one. Slowed playback then shows the movement.

At a storefront, we isolate the doorway or counter and enlarge it with care. Sharpening goes no further than the pixels allow.

Distance, glare and speed cap what a frame holds

The more rows a pole-mounted lot camera covers, the fewer pixels a plate at the far end gets. Headlights and low sun throw glare across windshields. A storefront camera facing a sunlit glass door exposes for the brightness outside, which can leave people in the doorway as dark shapes. At road speed, a dashcam blurs whatever passes close by.

Older store DVRs may record only a few frames each second. The moment you need can fall between two of them. They also compress to save disk space, often as H.264 or H.265, so fine detail is gone before anyone presses export.

After every step, a plate may still be unreadable and a face still a blur, and you will be told exactly that. How fast a car was moving is a question for speed analysis, its own discipline, and not one we offer.

Your Albuquerque file stays with our team

Nobody outside our in-house team works on an Albuquerque file. We are headquartered in Santa Fe and keep no office in Albuquerque. AI agents only speed up steps inside the team's editing software, using tools that software already has.

Our forensic video enhancement services page sets out the method in full, and it is the same for every market.

  1. Mark the camera and time range

Note which cameras saw the incident and the time it happened by the DVR's own clock. Do it before anyone at the store changes a setting.

  2. Export from the recorder

Export at the DVR itself, in its native format. Phone apps and remote viewers can pass along a lower-quality stream, so skip them.

  3. Handoff or controlled transfer

Hand the drive over in Albuquerque by appointment. A controlled transfer, arranged after your inquiry, is the other route.

  4. Assessment and a dated quote

We check what the frames can show before quoting.

  5. Clarified files back to you

Your export is copied before any work starts. The clarified files reach you with the untouched original beside them.

Forensic video enhancement cost in Albuquerque, and what you receive

After a collision caught on dashcam, an attorney gets clarified clips to step through frame by frame. Stills from the lot camera go into an adjuster's claim file. The original export travels with every result, so a store owner can compare the two. Written notes set out each processing step and which software ran it. Attorneys also receive our documented evidence-handling procedure on engagement.

A tight time range keeps the quote focused

One storefront camera and a short time range make a small job. A second camera or a longer stretch of recording adds work. So do a lot system on its own recorder, a player that only runs one brand's files, and several clips from one dashcam.

That work is what the cost reflects. The quote comes after the assessment, from the footage you sent. The time range is the part you control.

Clean exports shorten the wait

Filming the back-office monitor with a phone pushes the start back, because the export has to be redone. The same happens when a clip misses the time range or a file arrives without its player. A clean first export keeps the job moving. The quote sets the delivery date.

Sending Albuquerque video evidence

Export from the back-office DVR before the loop records over it

Surveillance DVRs in a back office keep more detail than any phone video of their screens. Whether that detail reaches us depends on the export.

  • Export soon, before the DVR's loop recording reaches the incident and writes over it.
  • Use the recorder's export or backup function, and copy the player software it offers.
  • Compare the DVR clock with your phone and write down the difference. Leave the clock as it is.
  • Play the export back on another computer to check that it opens and shows the incident.
  • Never film the monitor, and never text, email or post the clip; each of those recompresses or resizes it.
  • Leave the quality settings alone. Changing them now does nothing for video already recorded.
  • If the DVR has failed or will not export, do not pull its hard drive. Getting footage off a failed recorder is data recovery, a different discipline we do not perform.
  • Keep the export on a USB drive until the handoff or the transfer is arranged.

Hand it over in Albuquerque or send it

If the drive is ready in Albuquerque, a handoff can be booked by appointment. If not, a controlled transfer does the same job. Either way, request a footage assessment first and tell us which route you prefer. The assessment comes next, then a quote with its delivery date.

Forensic video enhancement in Albuquerque

An hour from our Santa Fe headquarters, with handoffs by appointment

Storefront cameras along Central Avenue, lot cameras at shopping centers across the metro and dashcams on the interstates that cross at the Big I all record video evidence we can assess. The lot camera outside a shop may belong to the shopping center, so its export may have to come from the property manager.

Our Santa Fe headquarters is about an hour's drive away. That is close enough to meet. You hand over the drive or the dashcam card in Albuquerque, at a place agreed when you book.

When meeting is awkward, the controlled transfer works from anywhere in the metro. Either route ends with the same in-house team. If you are heading north anyway, handoffs at our Santa Fe base work the same way, by appointment.

Albuquerque forensic video enhancement FAQ

Answers for store, lot and dashcam footage

How do we get CCTV footage from our store's DVR enhanced?

Find the camera and the time range first. Then save the native file and its player through the DVR's own export, and note how far the DVR clock is from real time. Contact us next. We arrange an Albuquerque handoff by appointment or a controlled transfer. Please never email the file.

Can a license plate be read from blurry parking lot video?

Only if the camera recorded the characters in enough pixels. Distance, angle, motion blur, headlight glare and compression decide that. We never generate characters to fill a gap. The assessment tells you whether the frames hold enough to read. Sometimes the answer is no.

How do we stop the DVR from recording over the incident?

Export the time range now. A DVR that records in a loop overwrites its oldest footage once the disk fills. Do not reset the unit or change its settings. Keep your own export even after you send us a copy. None of this is legal advice.

How much of the day should we export for one incident?

Start just before the person or vehicle first appears and stop just after they leave. Leave a margin on either side. Include every camera that caught any part of it, and note each recorder's clock offset. Exporting the whole day adds assessment work without adding detail.

Can dashcam video of a collision be clarified?

Yes, within limits. Stabilization, exposure and choosing the clearest frames can make the impact easier to follow. Motion blur at road speed and glare on the windshield set the ceiling. Send the file from the memory card itself. A phone recording of the dashcam screen loses detail. Nothing about a plate or a face can be promised, and the result may be inconclusive.

Can clarified stills support a business insurance claim?

They can be part of one. You receive clarified stills and clips, the original export alongside them and written notes on each step and the software used. Whether that supports the claim is for your insurer or your attorney to judge. We make no promise about the outcome.
